Residential Care
Residential care means that specialists and trained staff are on-site and ready to support the residents 24/7, with whatever they might need. This could be anything from getting dressed, cooking dinner or even just providing some company and a cup of tea.
The staff in our residential care homes will also communicate with medical professionals such as GPs, dieticians, and physiotherapists to make sure residents are accessing the care they need and are receiving the right support within the home that is tailored to their medical requirements.
Every room in our residential care housing is fully furnished with WiFi, TV, and radio access. Residents benefit from walk-in wet rooms and easy access baths for accessibility.
There are secure gardens on site for residents to enjoy, and they can also get involved with gardening if they’d like to try a new hobby.
Our residents are supported to feel independent, but with the comfort of knowing they have 24/7 access to support. We want to make sure that every resident in our care home feels happy and safe. Residents who are moving into a care home for the first time may be concerned or nervous about the change, but our staff will do everything they can to make the transition as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Nursing Care
Specialist nurses and support staff are available 24 hours a day to help residents with their needs. These needs vary from medical help, day to day tasks like getting dressed or just having a chat and a cup of tea.
Nursing care is a specialist service for those with more complex health needs which require the supervision of fully qualified nurses. This extra care could be social care, such as support with eating, drinking, and washing, or health support such as helping with wound dressings. A registered nurse will oversee all nursing in a care home.
Our registered nurses are available 24/7 and are supported by trained staff such s senior carers and healthcare assistants. Nursing Care is designed to prevent and reduce hospital admissions, support residents with recuperation from the hospital, and help residents get access to the right medical care in a comforting, safe environment.
When a resident moves into a Nursing Care unit at Positive Housing, we will discuss with the resident, their family, and their GP to find out what help they need from our nurses. This will help us build a personalized nursing care plan that is reviewed on a regular basis.

Dementia Care
Dementia care is a specialist service provided by nurses and staff who are on hand 24/7 to help with any resident need. We understand the complexities of dementia, the concern it causes family and friends and how isolating and frightening it can be for the resident at times too. That’s why our team are always on hand to support residents who have dementia with any need, whether it be washing and dressing, eating, or keeping them company. Our team liaise with the resident’s GP to make sure they are getting the exact right support and service.
Our dementia care unit has a spacious lounge, dining, and kitchen area. With secure gardens, residents can enjoy plenty of outdoors time to relax or do some gardening.
Each bedroom in our dementia care unit has its own ensuite with a walk-in shower for ease of accessibility. Specialist easy access baths are also available in some of our units. Each room is fully furnished with Wifi, TV, and radio.
Families and friends are encouraged to visit residents whenever they want, to make sure the housing unit feels like home for everyone.
Each of our residents will have a personalized care plan that has been tailored to their individual needs. Our dementia care plans are continually reviewed to ensure the support in place is appropriate, such as medication, diet plans, and personal care. Our staff is fully trained to support our residents with dementia to get the best out of their time with us.
Respite Care
Respite care is a short-term form of accommodation. Our rooms in the respite care unit are available for as little as a week across our residential, nursing and dementia care units. Residents may seek respite for numerous reasons, but the level of attention and support they receive from our staff will be exactly the same as our other residents.
One example of why someone may come to stay with us for respite is because their carer at home has gone away, or perhaps their house is being renovated or their relatives are going abroad and are not available to support them if they need it. They may be recovering from an operation or an illness and only need extra care until they recover. Whatever their reason, our staff will make their care a priority. As respite care is shorter term, residents may be unsure or nervous about coming to stay but be rest assured that our staff will make them feel welcome.
Respite care may be a resident’s first time experiencing a care home environment, and our staff are understandable and supportive. Many find their experience to be a positive one and are always happy to return for future respite care.
