What we offer

Positive Housing is a private limited company which provides both residential care homes and supported housing services. Our goal is to provide care and support to people who need extra help to live independently so that they can feel confident, supported, and happy in their everyday lives, and their friends and family can feel at ease knowing their loved one is well taken care of.

Residential Care Home

Supported Housing

Residential Care Home

A residential care home, sometimes called assisted living or personal care, is a type of accommodation for elderly residents aged 65 and over who need a little support with their day-to-day living. This could range from washing and dressing to cooking, cleaning and support with mobility. Residential care homes also provide an opportunity for socialization and a community feel that helps people feel less lonely.

Residential care gives peace of mind to the relatives and the residents, as they know they’ll be safe and well taken care of with access to specialist support whenever they need it.

Residents will be supported to pursue hobbies and interests, keep active and contribute to the community if they wish to. They will also get support with medication and arranging timely access to medical care such as GP appointments.

Supported Housing

Supported housing is similar to a residential care home in several ways, except it is available to anyone over the age of 18 who needs support with their living arrangements.

As with residential care, supported housing is designed to give residents that little bit of extra support to help them live independently in their own homes. Supported housing is designed to be shorter term, giving people the confidence, skills and means to get on their feet until they feel able to live independently in the community again.

At Positive Housing, our supported housing scheme helps residents learn and understand the essential skills needed to manage and maintain a tenancy, teaches budgeting and finance skills, help residents gain access to employment, training, or education, and encourages them to find and try new hobbies, and provides overall support that builds their confidence. Whatever their goal, Positive Housing will strive to help them reach those goals.

People may need supported housing for a variety of different reasons. They may have been homeless and need help getting the skills to rent independently, or perhaps they have grown up in care and don’t have the skills or confidence to rent on their own just yet. Whatever their reason, the staff at Positive Housing will provide non-judgmental, consistent support to give them the confidence they need.
